Why Choose JGAdair

Only members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) are entitled to call themselves Chartered Building Surveyors. Membership is a coveted achievement and a mark of professionalism and competence. The use of the description ‘Surveyor’ has not any standing of experience or guarantee of ability. Members of the RICS are bound by the rules of the Institution which includes a requirement to carry Professional Insurances and abide by Codes of Ethics and Practice as a protection to their clients.

James Adair graduated in Glasgow in Building Surveying and worked in both the private and public sectors before being admitted a member of the RICS. After further experience in the private sector set up a small, dedicated building surveying practice. This has now been based in Winchester over ten years. from here we cover cover in the immediate area Romsey, Southampton and Eastleigh. However our work has stretched from Sussex in the East and Dorset in the West to London in the North and further afield for existing clients.

In addition to membership of the RICS he has undertaken a post-graduate diploma in management and was admitted as a member of the Institute of Management. He holds a CSCS card and as a member of the RICS is required to undertake continuing professional development in order to maintain his membership.

The work of the practice has encompassed projects on commercial, residential, educational, leisure and historic buildings for a wide range of clients. Most of our projects are in Hampshire but our work has extended into other surrounding counties (and even further).

It has been said that: “Where ever new buildings are contemplated or existing buildings require repair or refurbishment, Building Surveyors have a major role to play in advising on design, repair and replacement”. It therefore is only sensible to use a properly qualified professional for your investment.
